Who We Are

Antiche Mura is the realization of the dream of two brothers, Carmine and Gianluigi, to one day have their own hotel and restaurant.  Born in Naples and raised on the nearby island of Ischia, Carmine and Gigi studied together at a hoteling school before setting out on their career paths. Early in their work experiences they rose through the ranks and moved through a variety of high level hotels and kitchens, such as the Regina Isabella (Lacco Ameno, Ischia), Anna Stuben (one-star Michelin, Hotel Gardena, Ortisei, BZ) and Chauteu de Bagnols (One Star Michelin, Lyon, France). Though hailing from the south, the brothers have spent the majority of their careers in northeast Italy, specificaly Trentino-Alto Adige, and even briefly worked together at the Hotel Spa Rosa Alpina (Relais & Chateaux) in Val Badia--the heart of the Dolomites. It is there that Carmine remained for nearly eight years as Maitre'd of the hotel's Wine Bar & Grill.  Gianluigi most recently served as Sous Chef at Alpensuite in Madonna di Campiglio, just an hour north of Riva del Garda.

At Antiche Mura, gregarious Carmine acts as Manager and Maitre'd--the master at the front of the house--and meticulous Gigi is Chef, responsible for the magic behind the scenes. Carmine and Gigi are joined by their family and significant others in this venture: Anna, Michele, Alessandro, Sarah and Denise, as well as two furry team members: Miky and Susetta.
